Starbucks Holiday Coffees and Creamers Are Already in Grocery Stores

Starbucks holiday coffees, creamers and ready to drink beverages for home

The holiday menu does not reach coffeehouses until November 5, but the grocery aisle is moving earlier. Starbucks said on October 5 that its at-home holiday coffees and creamers are now available at grocery stores and online nationwide, for a limited time while supplies last. Ready to drink holiday drinks will follow through October at select grocery, convenience and specialty stores.

For a lot of regulars, Peppermint Mocha is the flavor that starts the season. This year it leads the grocery lineup too, and it is showing up in a new place.

Peppermint Mocha, More Ways at Home

Peppermint Mocha flavored coffee is available for the first time for Starbucks by Nespresso for Vertuo. It also returns in K-Cup pods and as roast and ground coffee. If you prefer to build the drink yourself, the Peppermint Mocha Dairy Creamer is back as well.

Two bottled favorites are returning for the cold case. Iced Espresso Peppermint Mocha is a ready to drink option with espresso and milk. The Peppermint Mocha Frappuccino Chilled Coffee Drink brings the same chocolate and peppermint pairing in the bottled Frappuccino format many people grab on a grocery run.

Returning Coffees and Creamers

Holiday Blend is back again. Starbucks blends Latin American and Indonesian beans for this one, and regular buyers will know it as the bag that tends to disappear well before December ends. Hazelnut Cocoa Flavored Coffee returns too, for anyone who leans toward a warmer, nutty cup in the morning.

The creamer shelf has more than peppermint this year. Sugar Cookie Latte Non-Dairy Creamer is inspired by the coffeehouse drink and uses almondmilk and oatmilk. A Chestnut Praline Latte inspired dairy creamer is also in the lineup, even though that latte is not on the in-store holiday menu this year. For cold coffee at home, there is a Cold Brew Multi-Serve Concentrate in Sweetened Vanilla and Chocolate, meant to be mixed with water and poured over ice.

What It Means for Customers

This launch helps if your holiday coffee habit starts at home. You can stock a bag or a box of pods before the red cups arrive, keep a creamer in the fridge for weekend mornings, and still save the coffeehouse trip for the full drink with a partner handing it to you. Prices and stock will vary by store, and Starbucks is clear that these are limited time items. If Peppermint Mocha in a Vertuo pod is the one you want, waiting until late November is probably a gamble.

There is a Rewards angle starting November 2. Members can scan a QR code under the cap on select bottled drinks and creamers for a chance to win prizes, including Starbucks for a year and bonus Stars. You will need to check the product in hand to see if it is one of the participating ones.

What It Means for Partners

Grocery products do not change the work behind the bar, and that is part of the point. Partners in stores will still get the November rush when the in-store menu launches. The grocery lineup lets Starbucks show up at home and at the office without asking store teams to carry two holiday seasons at once. It also gives partners an easy answer when a customer asks how to make a familiar flavor on a day they are not coming in.

I enjoy the small timing quirk here. The season now starts in two waves, quietly in the grocery aisle in October and then loudly in stores in November. By the time Peppermint Mocha shows up on the menu board, many of us will already have had a version of it at our own kitchen table. That feels like a nice way to ease into it.
