Starbucks is set to open its first-ever 3D-printed café in Brownsville, Texas. Located at 2491 Boca Chica Blvd., this 1,400-square-foot store is constructed entirely from 3D-printed materials and will offer drive-thru and pick-up services only. The project, costing approximately $1.2 million, was developed in collaboration with Germany’s PERI 3D Construction, a company renowned for its innovative 3D-printed building projects worldwide.
This initiative aligns with Starbucks’ broader commitment to sustainable and innovative store designs. As of the end of 2024, Starbucks has verified over 9,000 stores for meeting robust environmental standards, including energy efficiency and waste reduction.
The Brownsville location represents a significant step in merging technological innovation with Starbucks’ retail experience, potentially setting a precedent for future store designs.
