Starbucks Introduces Sunsera Blend, Its Brightest Coffee Yet

February 27, 20251 min read

Starbucks is introducing its “brightest” coffee yet with the launch of the Sunsera Blend, a new light roast composed of 100% Arabica beans from Brazil and Colombia. Developed over 14 months by coffee expert Leslie Wolford, the blend offers a balanced and approachable flavor profile, featuring notes of Meyer lemon zest, toasted almond, Asian pear, and apricot. Starting March 4, customers can enjoy Sunsera as the featured light roast Coffee of the Day in Starbucks stores nationwide.

For those who prefer brewing at home, Sunsera Blend will also be available in grocery stores in various formats, including whole bean, ground, and K-Cups, with a Nespresso Vertuo version expected in April. This release coincides with Starbucks’ spring menu, which introduces new beverages like the Iced Cherry Chai and Iced Lavender Cream Oatmilk Matcha, as well as a Jalapeño Chicken Pocket.

This isn’t Starbucks’ first venture into light roasts; the Blonde Roast was added to the menu in 2017. However, the Sunsera Blend aims to offer a fresh and unique experience for coffee enthusiasts seeking a lighter, brighter brew.
